Stork Craft Tuscany 4-in-1 Stages Crib Price
Stork Craft Tuscany – The 5 Year to Forever Crib
Before I say anything else, let me just ask you one question, remember that moment when you realized you had to buy a crib, and then looked up crib prices and realized you were going to shell out about $200 for a piece of furniture which was unlikely to have any use in about a year or two?
You were wrong. Well at least if you got the Stork Craft Tuscany Crib, you were, and yes, this is the voice of experience talking.
Buying a baby crib or cot was probably the very first thing, me and my husband thought of when we started setting up our nursery; they do tend to be a nursery staple. Whether it’s the first or last thing you buy, you gotta buy a crib, there isn’t a substitute here. So my word of advice, when you decide to buy a baby crib, buy a good quality crib that when you read many crib reviews, comes out as a safe crib to buy. It’s also important to read what people say about the crib, why they like it and why they don’t.
Setting up, we launched a full on crib checklist of what we thought was the best crib to buy for us, this was done even before the paint had dried on the nursery walls. Although we thought we were totally cool and educated parents with our baby crib checklist, it did not take us very long to realize we were way out of our depth here, two of the sales people we spoke to literally put me into a daze (and you should have seen my husband’s face – oh lordy).
Just a week in and we began to panic. Dave, my husband, being the rational one at the time, decided that instead of letting shops and salesmen confuse us we would do a bit of our own research first, and so we began reading up. Slowly the terms of crib-ology began to make sense and after a lot of deliberation we went with the Stork Craft Tuscany Crib, that was a few years ago now, and we haven’t looked back since.
Since I found crib-ology to be a daunting an unnecessarily time consuming task, this is my crib checklist that we made of all the things we factored in before we decided on the best crib for our baby.
Convertible Baby Crib
That’s right, just like Heather mentioned in the DaVinci Kalani crib review, the Stork Craft Tuscany crib is also a safe convertible crib which transforms into an additional 3 beds, a toddler bed, a day bed and a full size bed.
Safety and Comfort
Cribs come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, some of them are round cribs, some, are cribs with wheels, some even are ‘canopy cribs’ that have a canopy attached to them – but none of these were what I wanted. I am a bit of a no frills person and I saw no point in a round crib and wheels were out of the question, so I decided I wanted a stationary, solidly built wood frame, for security and stability, ensuring I bought the safest crib I could within my budget.
The Stork Craft cot was just that, it also came with three levels of adjustment which was a huge plus in my book, because leaning over a crib to put your newborn in can be very difficult, during the first few months while you are still healing yourself. So there is no confusion, the Stork Craft Tuscany 4 in 1 crib is also called the Stork Craft Tuscany 4 in 1 Fixed Side Convertible Crib.
Not to mention this sleigh shaped cot, has rounded, rather than sharp edges which means parents no longer have to be sawed in half as they lay their child to sleep, no red marks from the wood dodging into your skin either.
Easy to Set-up
The next we looked for as a couple, was an easy set up, this was mainly because my husband’s job requires us to travel a lot and a cot that made us weep for days over its instruction manual just wasn’t going to cut it. The Stork Craft Tuscany Crib, is just that, very easy to set up. The directions on the manual are clear and the pictures are very helpful. The very first time it took us under two hours to assemble and I’m sure that was just because we had no idea what we were doing, because it has taken us considerably less every time since.
Baby-Friendly
When we first got the Stork Craft Tuscany Crib, we were very worried about what would happen when our child began to grow a little, would her limbs be getting caught in the space between the bars (remember the best test is a soda can, ensure that the spaces are not wider than one), would she gnaw on the crib when she started teething and end up ingesting harmful chemicals, trust me there is a whole world of ‘would’s’ where those came from. So we went through many Stork Craft crib reviews, asked around and fact checked.
First of all the Stork Craft crib’s passed all international level standards for juvenile furniture and has a non-toxic finish certified by JPMA, which meant it was a chemical free choice in baby cribs. Then we looked into the more of the JPMA certifications, JPMA not only checked for toxins but also for crib construction safety, meaning the spindles were only as far apart as certified. After that we honestly just relaxed a bit and enjoyed the multitude of additional perks that came with the crib.
Perks
As shallow as this may sound, the first perk in my book is that the cot was absolutely gorgeous, the sleek sleigh-shaped lines, the rounded edges and the color (the cribs comes in a selection of black, cherry, cognac and white)! My nursery was literally shaped around this little piece and the Stork Craft Aspen Combo Dresser, which I basically use as a changing station as well as a dresser. In fact, I love all the Stork Craft nursery furniture, all Stork Craft nursery furniture pieces are made of high quality and have finished off our nursery perfectly. The style of the Stork Craft nursery furniture including the dresser table and changing table are elegant pieces also – I just love them and if your budget permits – a great investment; not only for your nursery but also great pieces of furniture to put into any room of the house (see below for current specials on Stork Craft and Aspen nursery furniture).

Splurge a little extra cash on the rest of the nursery when the Stork Craft Crib Converts to a full size bed frame
Also, I have just updated my nursery set for a nursing chair called the Stork Craft Custom Tuscany Oak Finish Glider and Ottoman with Free lower lumbar pillow. I bought mine with beige cushions. It is so comfy and I can’t wait to use it and spend the time to compare other glider and ottoman nursing chairs to help parent’s out there aswell. As yet, I haven’t written a review on the chair as I have just bought it, but Emma has written a review on her nursery glider chair, the Stork Craft Hoop Glider and Ottoman Set.
Another great thing about this was the 4 way convertibility, I have been using for over three years now so it’s already been a cot and a toddler bed, I can’t wait to turn it into a full size bed in a few years or a even a day bed, for my little girl when she grown up a bit!
And the best bit is that it’s at a great price, for parents on a budget like us, the cot was a lifesaver, that allowed us to splurge a little on the rest of the nursery fittings, and made our lives a little easier, without having to compromise on quality. By far the Stork Craft is one of those high quality yet cheap cribs to buy.
Linda’s Final Comments on the Stork Craft Crib
In the end, the Stork Craft Tuscany 4-in-1 Stages Crib, was a stylish, easy to assemble and baby-friendly crib. It has been proved through years of use, making it one of the most durable baby cribs on the market. I highly recommend it, especially to first time parents; this is the cot you want! I personally have this crib and thus it’s ranked No.2 on our list but in comparison to the other cribs on the market, Stork Craft are a reliable crib manufacturer producing high quality cribs, safe baby cribs and affordable baby cribs.
